A Two Dollar Coin That Is Worth Its Weight in Gold!

This two dollars coin dating from 1999 is not like the others produced that year. In contrary to all the other twoonies issued in 1999, the core is composed of 22 karat gold (91.7%) and the ring is composed of white gold. The gold content is 0.185 Troy ounce.​

This piece was issued in an oval shaped green case and has a proof finish. The inscriptions ‘’22 K CENTRE’’ and ‘’CENTRE 22 C’’ are present on the obverse side. On the reverse, an Inuit drummer is present as for the regular circulation issue. The mintage is 4,298.​
