The First One Dollar Coin Issued for Circulation!
1935 is the year that the one dollar coin was introduced for circulation in Canada. This piece is made of 80% pure silver and its silver content is 0.6 ounce. The obverse shows the portrait of king George V and the reverse shows the famous coureurs des bois in their bark canoe. This series, which was issued by the royal canadian mint from 1935 to 1967, is one of the most collected series in Canada.
We estimate the value of this piece (an almost uncirculated coin) at $42.
